Alec Crisp Architects is a Bristol-based, RIBA Chartered Practice focused on creating thoughtful, well-made architecture. We help our clients get the most out of their projects, creating spaces that enhance everyday life.
We work across extensions, renovations, conversions, interiors and new-builds, from the first conversation through to construction. We're based in Bristol and take on projects nationally.
Approach
A well-designed building changes how you experience it. We work with clients who know they want something better from the spaces they're creating. We help them work out exactly what that means and how to get there.
We think carefully about how light, materials, form and spatial arrangement shape experience. The quality of light in a room, the warmth of a material, the generosity of a plan: these things affect how you feel.
We design architecture shaped by clarity, craft, and materials. We rigorously test ideas at every stage from layout sketches through to construction detailing. It’s this design-led approach that leads to spaces and buildings that feel refined and quietly expressive.

Alec Crisp
Alec is an ARB registered architect and RIBA Chartered Member with over a decade of experience at a broad range of practices in the UK and the US. He has worked across residential, cultural, education and public projects, from carefully crafted private homes to large institutional buildings.
Alec studied at the University of Nottingham, the London School of Architecture and the University of Cambridge. He has worked on projects ranging from the Stirling Prize–shortlisted London College of Fashion at Allies and Morrison to Passivhaus homes and ambitious residential developments at ByOthers, and most recently as a project architect at Cooke Fawcett Architects, leading private residential schemes from concept through planning, detailed design and on-site delivery.
His work balances technical rigour with a calm, tactile sensibility to create thoughtful, well-crafted spaces tailored to client and site. He set up Alec Crisp Architects in 2026, working with clients directly from brief through to completion.
